Meet Pacey. This little guy is the reason that this blog exists. I adopted Pacey 3 years ago, when he was a tiny pup weighing just 4 pounds. His mother was a pure bred short-haired chihuahua who often escaped from her family’s yard, so the identity of Pacey’s father is a mystery–probably at least part pomeranian and maybe part spaniel. But whatever mix he was, Pacey inherited his father’s long legs. You could say that he’s the opposite of a daschund: a little chihuahua body on a set of disproportionately long legs.
His unusual name is a reflection of my inner geek. Yes, it’s true: Pacey is named after my favorite character on my favorite guilty pleasure TV show of all time, Dawson’s Creek. Don’t judge me.
Pacey’s favorite pastimes are playing with his Kong and running off-leash with his pal Brimley the westie puppy. He’s a perfect co-pilot on car trips, and he also enjoys long walks on the beach. Just kidding about that last one.
The most interesting fact about this quirky little dog is that he watches TV. No, seriously, he REALLY watches TV. He focuses intently and waits for any non-human character to come on the screen . . . so that he can bark at them. Some of his most worthy adversaries are the Geico Gecko, Snuggle the Fabric Softener Bear, the Pillsbury Dough Boy, and the Scrubbing Bubbles. It’s a very annoying habit, but I have to admit that his ability to discriminate between humans and animals on screen is uncanny.
Pacey’s favorite treat recipe is my Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits.
